CITIZENS COUNCIL ON ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

PURPOSE

CCII's purpose is to develop and apply local solutions to problems caused by illegal immigration and to support regional, state and national efforts to eliminate illegal immigration.

GOALS

Work with appropriate officials to develop patriotic immigration policies which honor federal, state and local laws.  Document problems caused by illegal immigration in our community.  Educate ourselves and other citizens with regard to causes, effects and consequences of illegal immigration.  Work with citizens, organizations, public officials and others in reducing illegal immigration to our community.

STRATEGIES

CCII desires to be part of the solution, not the problem.  Through citizen Committees, discover, document and address community problems arising from illegal immigration.  Work with local officials, media and others in bringing attention to illegal immigration issues.  Propose solutions that can be implemented by the community and public officials.

IMPLEMENTATION

Committees are established to address various aspects of illegal immigration issues.  Current primary Committees are: Law Enforcement, Health, Employment and Education.  Support secondary Committees are:  Media, Community Relations and American Culture.

FEEDBACK

Results of efforts initiated by CCII will be disseminated through appropriate media.

ABOUT US

The Citizens Council on Illegal Immigration was formed in September, 2004.  The purpose of the Council is to provide the legal residents of WashingtonCounty with a forum in which they can oppose illegal immigration.  The Council will document the problems caused by illegal immigration and propose solutions that can be implements by the community, law enforcement personnel and public officials.

Our County and State budgets are overwhelmed.  Schools, hospitals, law enforcement and public services are strained while the taxpayers incur additional costs and greater debt.  Our Nation's identity, security and survival are threatened by this influx of illegal immigration.  We face a crisis of unprecedented proportions that has increased year by year since 1986.

Illegal immigration is exactly as the expression implies, it is illegal, against the law.  Anyone entering our country without following lawful guidelines is breaking the law, regardless of why they enter.   Statements such as "to make a better life for themselves and their family", "to earn a living wage", or "services are better and more abundant", are not proper reasons to break the law.

Employers provide the fuel for this "unarmed invasion".  They are creating a modern slave labor force by paying low wages, minimum taxes and no benefits.  Illegal aliens accept most anything, just to become employed, making it impossible for a citizen to locate a job.  Illegal aliens degrade the nations's labor force - employers accept them for short term profits, overlooking the long term ramifications.

Our Main thrust is to educate the public, media and public officials concerning illegal immigration and the devastating problems it creates for all citizens.

The Citizens Council is taking action, but we cannot do it alone.  If you see the problem, have experienced harm by it, and wish to assist in combating this "unarmed invasion", please contact us, join a Committee, attend our meetings and spread the word.

SCHEDULE OF MEETINGS

The Citizens Council conducts a monthly public meeting on the fourth Thursday of each month.  The Washington County Commission allows us to reserve the Commission Chambers for the meeting at 7:00 PM.  The address is :  197 East Tabernacle, St. George, Utah84770.  The public is invitied to attend and participate by asking questions and expressing their views.  The Citizens Council conducts a monthly private planning meeting to organize subject material, plan activities, discuss communications, identify areas of immediate concern and plan long term
