PRESS RELEASE

 Benjamin Nickle To Lead

Citizens Council on Illegal Immigration

ST. GEORGE (Mar. 25, 2008) – Former City Council candidate, Benjamin Nickle, 26, has been elected president of the Citizens Council on Illegal Immigration (CCII) in Washington County, continuing with campaign promises to draw attention to illegal immigration issues albeit from the platform of the local political activist group.

“Because of government inaction citizen activist groups like the CCII are now a vital component in educating the public about the continued flood of illegal aliens into our community,” said Nickle.

“We provide a means of organizing patriotic citizens into local action on this issue – something our local governments should have been doing years ago,” he added.

The CCII was formed in 2004 to develop and apply local solutions to problems caused by illegal immigration and to support regional, state and national efforts to eliminate illegal immigration.

Informational meetings are held the fourth Thursday of the month at 7 PM in the Washington County Administration Building to provide legal residents of the county with education and dialogue on local issues pertaining to illegal immigration and to propose solutions that can be implemented in the community.

“Along with the Minutemen chapter of Southern Utah, the CCII represents one of the only groups actively trying to stop illegal immigration into our community,” Nickle affirmed.  “I am very proud of our efforts and I am honored to accept this responsibility.”

Nickle is a former Bloomington Community Councilman and a two-time runner-up for City Council in the last two St. George municipal elections.  He is presently employed as a Youth Crisis Counselor and serves as Vice President  of the Association of Planned Unit Developments and Condominiums (AOPC) in Washington County.  He has a degree in Criminal Justice.
